How often to dryer vents need cleaning?

Consumer Product Safety Commission says that in 2000, there were 12,700 clothes dryer fires results in $99m in damages, 330 injuries, and 20 lives lost. The better a dryer vent blows, the less lint builds up in it. Short vents blow better than longer ones. Full size dryers blow better than smaller stack dryers or older dryers. Vents with a lot of turns and elbows blow worse and build up more lint. Very short vents attached to full size dryers may never need cleaning. Most vents, however, need cleaning every one to three years, depending on the factors above.

"I have a coupon for $49.99 to clean the air ducts in my home, can you price match?"

Please be aware of these companies claiming to clean your home for this low of a price. Some companies advertise a full system clean, when in fact they do not clean the trunk lines where the dust buildup sits. We spend a minimum of three hours in a home to accomplish a proper air duct cleaning.

Who needs air duct cleaning?
